The Green Chamber of the South held its annual member meeting on August 17, 2021.
We were joined by Danielle Deiseroth, Senior Climate Data Analyst, Data for Progress to discuss clean energy dentiment in Georgia and potential opportunities for our members.
Danielle offered insight into the data they have collected at the state and national level. With support from the data, Georgia voters make it clear that clean energy presents significant growth opportunities in the region for which the Green Chamber can help position members.
Similarly, Bernie Burgener, Executive Director, Greenhouse Accelerator, provided an update on progress of companies that have participated in the Accelerator program. With the related goals of promoting sustainable business, the Greenhouse Accelerator offers our members a chance to collaborate, in a variety of ways, with start-ups in the local community. Bernie can be reached via email.
The meeting also spotlighted two additional partnerships: the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Extension Partnership and RCE Greater Atlanta.
Sandra Enisco, Project Manager, Energy and Sustainability, gave a high-level overview of the program and offerings available to manufacturers in the state. Sandra and the extension partnership helps organizations develop and implement environmental, health and safety management systems to achieve certification under ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. She also provides technical assistance to companies by evaluating environmental regulatory requirements and managing the Pollution Prevention Program through the Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia.
Manufacturers interested in obtaining more information can contact Sandra via email.
The RCE Greater Atlanta continues to be a supportive partner. The Green Chamber works closely with the leadership team for business engagement.
More recently, we have been involved with the RCE Greater Atlanta Mentorship Program, which works to connect students from across the Greater Atlanta area with a variety of mentors from industry, non-profits and academic backgrounds.
Current and past members currently participate as mentors as the program continues to grow. More information can be found on the RCE website.
